YOUNG ONSET DEMENTIA SUPPORT VOLUNTEER

Young onset dementia is dementia that is diagnosed when someone is under 65. Our young onset groups go out for days out so that they can have fun and be with friends and support one another. The group is supported by two members of staff, and one volunteer. The group do all sorts of activities, visiting historic houses, playing table tennis, going for walks and so much more.

We are looking for volunteers with a passion for supporting younger people with dementia. Volunteers should be interested in supporting people to get out and about to have fun with their peers.

VOLUNTEERS WILL TRAVEL IN OUR MINIBUS TO A LOCAL VENUE OR ACTIVITY AND SUPPORT PEOPLE TO TAKE PART. THIS WILL BE A FULL DAY OF ACTIVITY, PROBABLY FROM 10AM TO 3PM. WE ARE LOOKING FOR MORE THAN ONE VOLUNTEER, SO THAT WE CAN RUN A ROTA SO THAT PEOPLE DO NOT NECESSARILY HAVE TO COMMIT ON A WEEKLY BASIS.
