Sewerby’s East Yorkshire Cricket ground, situated on Sewerby cliff top overlooking the North Sea, lies in front of the Georgian grandeur of Sewerby Hall and boasts a panoramic view extending from the spectacular white chalk cliffs of Flamborough Head and across the sweep of Bridlington Bay towards Spurn Head. The ground is close to the cliff edge and many a batsman has tried, without success, to hit the ball on the full into the sea.
The Saturday team plays in the in the “Readers” Scarborough Beckett League and we have 3 junior teams in the Derwent Valley cricket league.
The playing surface is arguably the best in the area, regularly providing a feast of runs for the delight of the many spectators who are able to take advantage of the seating which extends all round the boundary.
The Club is proud of its brand-new pavilion incorporating excellent changing facilities for players and officials. The tea room is renowned for its standard of refreshment and the score box, with electronic score board, has a view it is difficult to surpass.
