Goole Art Society

Goole Art Society  This Art society meets at Goole College, Mondays during term time, they explore a whole range of the arts, whilst socialising together, contact for more details.

With a membership approaching 30 members coming from as far afield as Howden, Hatfield, Snaith, Pollington, Eastrington & the Isle of Axholme & the town itself, Goole Art Society is a thriving art group that is open to anyone over 18 years of age.
Based at Goole College on Boothferry Road, our meetings are held every Monday evening between 7.00 – 9.00 pm during term times. We welcome anyone from any background or ability to come along for a free ‘try’ session, if you like it then membership is just £15.00 for a full year.
We don’t have any tutors as such, but more experienced members are always on hand to help guide anyone who may be struggling with certain aspects. Members work in any medium they choose, on any subject they want, but we also enjoy special interest evenings like abstracts, mixed media, or still life. We also now hold a couple of Plein Air (outdoor sessions) – weather permitting of course!
There are also a few demo nights & workshops with guest artists, which are free for members, but non-members can also come along for a small fee of £3.
We try to hold two exhibitions a year, one at the town’s Hobbies Exhibition which is held at the Leisure Centre in March, & is an excellent showcase for a vast array of hobbies & pastimes. Our second is usually at the Waterways Museum which have now started to run 2 mini hobbies exhibitions per year.
